One Year as a Member of Delta Gamma

As Spring semester approached, I realized my time as a Delta Gamma new member would be coming to a close.  With the whirlwind of recruitment and searching for a little (and I found the perfect woman to complete my DG family!), I’ve had little time to really reflect on my past year and how much Greek life has impacted my life. So I’ve decided to tell ya’ll a little more about it. After all, about 40% of UR students are involved in Greek life, and many times media portrayal can be wrong about the Greek system and its members.

And My Decision Is...

Applications, recommendations, transcripts, essays…all of these words are responsible for some pretty traumatic nightmares I experienced during the fall of my senior year of high school. I happen to suffer from an extreme case of procrastination, especially when I feel pressure to make decisions that will definitely alter my life. The amount of thinking and decision-making that is included in the process of finding and applying to college is deeply overwhelming for most, and with good reason because I for one believe that it’s a pretty big deal.

Summer Plans in the Village of Needmore

Its time to figure out my summer plans! After a whirlwind of a first year, I personally need a break from school. So, right now I’m in the process of applying for jobs and counting down the days until I get to go to the beach! (12 days :]). In my free time, my goals for this summer are help my parent renovate our property and help them with the gardening.

The Finals Showdown

As the semester wraps up, all students know what is coming. The week of no sleep. The week of terrible eating habits. The week of meltdowns. You’ve got it, it’s time for finals!

The Art of Packing

As I stare at the empty boxes and tubs that will soon be full with the content of my dorm room, I realize just how intimidating it is to pack all your belongs and move out.

Luckily, this ain’t my first rodeo. This will be my fifth move back into my home after a year of school. The skills I have learned throughout the years are my lifeline throughout the process, and I’d love to share them with my lovely readers. :]

I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Richmond and interested in Dance and Sociology. I applied Early Decision to Richmond because it had such a great mix of everything I was looking for academically and holds a deep appreciation for the arts. When I’m at school you can usually find me dancing in Frederick Rehearsal Hall, enjoying my study time in Boatwright Memorial Library, or trying to entertain my roommate with my jokes and facial expressions. Cookies are my favorite food, though macaroni and cheese is a close second. I am a part of the University Dancers for a second year in a row - and I love it! Something interesting about me: a major goal of mine is to be on the ‘Jeopardy’ show.
