As I mentioned in my last post, I was supposed to be at the Lima International Airport on Sunday, August 9th at 9:30pm. Sunday I ended up waking up at 8:30am (something that unfortunately happened all week before my trip) and had some breakfast. I didn’t get to fall asleep after that, and I had to use my time to clean my room and get my backpack ready. By 8pm we left my house and got to the airport at 9. I was excited, cus I realized I was early and the line for check-in probably would be a really short one. Yeah…I was actually wrong bout that one. Apparently everyone else had thought the same thing I did and there were like 60 people in front of me in the line for the check-in (I’m not even exaggerating.) It took me 45 mins to be done with that, cus also my two suitcases were overweight. I had to take out stuff and put them in my backpack, and I even had to leave a jacket with my mom cus I just didn’t have anywhere to put it.
When I was finally done, I had something to eat cus I skipped lunch (I lose my appetite before getting on planes, haha.) I wasn’t expecting the line for airport security to be too long, but I was wrong again…Once again, about 60 people in front of me, maybe even more. The line even had curves along the way to fit everyone.
By that point I was already in a terrible mood (I hate masses, especially when I’m waiting behind all of them in a line.) The only cool thing bout waiting for 30mins there was that 50 Cent, who had a concert in Lima on Saturday, was right next to me in the line. It became not so cool when he got special treatment and went through airport security before everyone else, though…
I got to my gate at 11:15pm and just waited 45 mins to get on the plane. And the plane was awesome, cus it had the screens right in front of every seat and I got to watch Two and a Half Men and other series for most of the flight. Lima to Atlanta took 7 hours, and I only slept for 3, so I’m basically dead right now.
This was the trip of the looooooooooooongggggggg liiiiiiiineeeeeeeessssss (I’m telling you, I’m dead right now,) cus even in Atlanta it took me 45mins to get through immigrations and then another 30mins to get my suitcases on their way to Richmond. The flight landed at 8:15am, but I got to my gate 2 hours later.
Now I’m just waiting 2 more hours until my connecting flight departs. When I get to Richmond my girlfriend will be there waiting for me, which was reaaally nice of her =) But as soon as I get to UR I’m going to start my RA training, so my day won’t be over until really late.
I just hope tomorrow I don’t have to wake up too early…Â
