Move out was on Sunday, May 3rd and we had to be gone by noon. Even though are flights had been booked for Monday, my girlfriend and I were lucky cus her parents came down to take her stuff back home and we were able to stay with them at the hotel for the night.
Between being anxious for the trip, worrying about possible swine flu outbreaks and the exhaustion from packing one whole year of our lives in just a couple of days, we got on Delta’s flight 5957. The fact that there are no direct flights from Richmond to Lima made us stop in Atlanta, where we had to wait a couple of hours before boarding Delta’s flight 235. This one did have Lima as its final destination, but we still arrived there at about 11:00pm (about 12 hours after we had been dropped off at Richmond’s so-called International Airport).
Luckily for us, we got our suitcases quickly and my family was already waiting, ready to take us home. “Mooom, I’m hooomee (and I brought someone with me :P).” The picture below shows how my mom reacted to the news.

She looks serious right? Hahaha, I’m just kidding. She already knew my girlfriend was coming home with me. That’s the face she made when I told her bout my grades. Noooo, I’m lying again (my grades were better than in the Fall). The truth is that I actually can’t remember why she’s looking so serious, but I’m sure it wasn’t anything bad =).
Anyway, we ended up going to bed at about 2:30am and woke up kinda early cus my little cousing didn’t want to go to school and was making a scene (I don’t know where he got THAT from). After that, Tuesday was used for my girlfriend to meet my friends at my high school and some members of my family.
On Wednesday, we had lunch with my dad’s side of the family. Delicious Peruvian food, including an amazing dessert.
Everyone in my family was really happy to meet my girlfriend and we had an amazing time. We didn’t spend every day in Lima, but our trip out of the capital city is something I’ll have to write about next time, cus it deserves it’s own post.

Mmmm. Mil hojas: me gusta!
