Why Richmond?
Ah, the hot question. To be honest, I initially applied to UR on instinct. I knew what I was looking for and I only wanted to apply to schools that I felt equally confident about and comfortable with. I saw that Richmond has a highly ranked undergrad business program (top 20!) in combination with a strong liberal arts education, two areas of study that are hard to find of equal caliber at a small private school like Richmond. I was also extremely impressed with UR’s extensive study abroad department with over seventy five programs in thirty countries! For a school of under 3000 students, that fact just blew me away. The school’s research and internship opportunities are also quite remarkable and I cannot wait to take advantage of these resources. Furthermore, my early experience with the school’s faculty informed me that UR professors are not only some of the most respected in their fields but they are also friendly and accessible even to just a prospective student like myself. The staff was also extremely helpful and supportive with all of my questions and seemed to be genuinely interested in helping me. The overall quality of the University of Richmond just could not be beat and I am excited to finally be on campus!
