Do we all know what day it is, boys and girls? It’s the last day of exams!  YAY! I am obviously thrilled and as predicted my organic final was like military waterboarding. I just had to hold in my screams and wait for it to be over. Luckily it is, with unknown and probably disappointing results, but the finality of this moment is awe-full. I am leaving the campus for the next nine months or so and I’ll be in Australia for six of those. But if you thought, dear spider readers that this young woman is resting for two and a half months until she has to suffer through a twenty hour migraine (on the plane ride over) before reaching her paradise, you’d better think again! I have plans for this winter break–most notably (and most mentioned) finishing my screenplay. I now have a deadline and am on page 24 of the rewrite. I’ve told a good number of students about the script and they all agree that it’s a nail-bitter, so I’m thrilled.
Other than all the studying and studying and studying and getting little sleep and not eating because I forget to, life is pretty random right now–always in a good way, though, so I am grateful for that. I will continue to write every week through break and on into next semester when I’ll be walking the streets of a mad-cat town down under.  Right now, though, it’s 8:52 and time to go to bed because I’m getting up at 3 tomorrow morning to go the airport with a friend. My flight isn’t until 11, BUT I figure I won’t be seeing him again for a while so I should spend the time I have with friends. I also know that one more night of little sleep is going to make no difference in the long run. And if I’m exhausted when I get home tomorrow, I have winter break to sleep.Â
Wait. Didn’t I just say I wasn’t going to do that?
Hum. Awe.

Quote of the week:
“They have a lot of dangerous animals in Australia. You get up in the morning and have to brush turtles off your face and kick kangaroos out of your bed.” - Danny Bhoy.

Jordan–
We’ll miss you on campus but are excited to read about your adventures in Australia! Travel safely and drink lots of water on that plane ride over–it helps with the jet lag.

Let us hear from you even before you go down under.

let alone the turtles, don’t forget to pack a watersuit made of steel just in case you end-up meeting a sting ray!
