It’s been a week since school has let out and I am still not home. So, you may wonder where in the world I went, right? Well, I went to Goshen, Virginia for an InterVarsity retreat called Rockbridge. It is a place where InterVarsity Christian Fellowship chapters from Virginia and the Carolinas get together to learn, to worship, and to have some fun. So, my role as Events Coordinator for the UR chapter placed me in the Coordinating Team track with several other of my friends. It was an exhausting week as we had to pour ourselves out to help set a vision for the chapter, but it was still exciting to hope for our future. It was much different from my experiences last year, but I’m still glad I went. Despite much rain, I still enjoyed some brilliant summer weather, getting in some volleyball and ropes course. I also made many new friends, both from my own school and other schools such as Clemson, Duke, NC State, Roanoke, and Mary Washington, most of which were through friendly (yet also some very competitive) games of volleyball. I fly home to Wisconsin tomorrow (just in time to give my mom the perfect Mother’s Day gift…. me). I’ll frantically attempt to get everything together for my travels abroad while still trying to get a few days of rest. Next time you here from me, I will probably be in Spain. Yikes!!! Here’s some of my new friends and experiences from Rockbridge:
