Last Day of Classes!!! :-)

Hello there, Prospectives!

Today was the last day of classes, and I am so excited!  I have successfully made it through my first year of college (well, with the exception of finals) and I do NOT want to transfer!  That is a big deal because you would be surprised at the number of college students (at all colleges/universities) who transfer after their first year because of dissatisfaction.  I don’t have any statistics for you, lol, but I personally know of quite a few of my friends from high school and elsewhere who are dealing with that issue.

But let’s get to the good stuff…

My Black Vernacular professor returned our graded research papers to us the other day, and I got a B+!  Excited about a B+ you say?  Absolutely!  You will find that high school is not like college, and you must transition accordingly.  No, I am not at all saying that you will not get the A’s that you are used to receiving.  However, you will probably have to work a little harder to get them.  Also, you will have to accept that there may be some occasions when you put your heart and soul into an assignment and earn every bit of the B+ that you receive.  It may be disgruntling, but you just take it all in stride.  Learn from your mistakes and work to improve upon them next time.  Or if you know that you did the absolute best that you could do, just take a deep breath and move on.  It is not the end of the world!

And more greatness…

I turned in my portfolio today for my Drawing 101 class, and a lot of my drawings turned out better than I could have ever expected.  I learned so much in that class!  And maybe I uncovered some partial hidden talent that I have…just maybe :-) .

Hope you like them :-) .

Until next week (FINALS!!)…

I have really enjoyed reading all of your spider diary entries and I am so excited about attending Richmond in the fall! Your journal entries have really helped me gain a sense of what Richmond is like and although it will be challenging I know it will push me to reach my highest level of potential. I know this week is exams for you and I wish you the best! I hope to meet you next year!
