It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… :-)

It’s the end of the semester, Prospectives, and well…I’m really happy.  Not that this semester hasn’t been great, but I just really need a break!  This college thing is not something to be taken lightly—especially at exam time.

However, even amidst preparing for finals, the atmosphere has not been too tense—how could it be?  Christmastime is here!  Decorations around campus combined with the frigid weather have really gotten me ready for the holiday.

Last weekend there was a Christmas Candlighting Ceremony, where there were myriad selections performed by UR’s own Women’s Chorale and Schola Cantorum.  Additionally, the James River Ringers performed a few pieces, which I thought was pretty cool because the majority of their sounds were produced using bells.  I attended to support my friend Farren who sings in the Schola Cantorum.  There was a pretty good turnout, and I enjoyed myself.

This week started off with great news—my Spanish professor informed me that I had the choice to opt out of taking my final!  I happily chose to do just that, and without having an exam until next week, I chose to spend a few days relaxing at home.  My little brother was elated to have me home, and my mom was glad to have me there to help her put up the Christmas tree.

The days passed quickly, of course, and now I’m back on campus, studying for my Calculus and CORE final exams.  Based on the way my studying is going right now, I think I’ll do well on my finals.  And with that said, I do need to get back to practicing optimization, differentiation, and integration—Calc exam is on Monday!

I guess this is it for the semester, Prospectives!  Don’t be sad, though.  I’ll be back again in January to keep you posted on UR life.

Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!  Don’t forget your January college deadlines!

That’s all she wrote!  :-)
